West Monroe is seeking Consulting Interns to join our Organization, People & Change (OPC) Practice.
As an Organization, People & Change (OPC) Consulting Intern, you will help clients maximize the value of business transformations, AI-oriented strategies, technology implementations, and transactions by redesigning organizations, transforming work and workforces, modernizing HR, and enabling people to adopt new ways of working.
The OPC Practice helps clients accelerate business outcomes by transforming organizations, redefining work and workforce strategies, modernizing HR, leading successful change & adoption, and supporting strategic transactions.
Our OPC Consulting Interns contribute to the service areas below:
Work and Workforce Transformation
Leverage an AI-powered platform to collaborate with business leaders to identify and deliver measurable business value by:
  • Redefining work through business process optimization, designing AI-ready processes and workflows, determining workforce / staffing capacity and demand
  • Redesigning the workforce and organization by planning who or what performs the work, designing roles and structures, assessing and building skills and competencies, and defining governance and decision rights
  • Assessing all the overall costs of processes and labor to determine opportunities to reallocate or save cost for the client to realize business objectives

Note - this service drives larger business-wide transformational initiatives while also have specific expertise in the Human Resources (HR) function.
Mergers and Acquisitions
  • Transactions: Advise on people, process, and technology issues at every stage of the deal lifecycle, including planning and execution support for critical business activities.

Organizational Change Management (OCM)
  • OCM Strategy & Execution: Provide end-to-end change management services, from strategy development to execution, to maximize value, minimize risk, and drive engagement and adoption.
  • Change Capability Advisory & Development: Build and/or mature organizational change capabilities using proven methods and best practices, tailoring solutions whether clients have mature functions or are just beginning their journey.
  • Skilling & Human Performance: Help leaders create more value, achieve transformation goals, and build a future-ready workforce by improving learning and performance through people and their skills.

Primary Responsibilities
Client Delivery:
  • Support client opportunities by developing and executing change management initiatives, human capital strategies, transaction support, and work and workforce transformation engagements, including vision alignment, leadership engagement, communication, organizational alignment, process definition, and organization design.
  • Document stakeholder interviews, perform analysis, and document the impacts of transformational initiatives to guide strategic decisions.
  • Develop client deliverables such as presentations, agendas, and learning materials to enable readiness and adoption of planned changes.
  • Synthesize multiple data sources to produce a concise, client-ready deliverable to drive meaningful conversation.
  • Leverage analytics, benchmarks, and AI-enabled tools to complete analysis and develop recommendations / business cases.

Practice Development
  • Support national team efforts to enhance OPC methodologies, benchmarks, tools, AI delivery, and other collateral.
  • Contribute to thought leadership initiatives through blogs, white papers, and other content.
  • Build and expand your professional and community network.
  • Participate in programs to maintain a strong OPC culture including local Geo Culture Committees, Recruiting & Onboarding Committees, etc.

Technology & AI:
  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate analysis, synthesize complex information, and support data-driven recommendations for clients, exercising sound judgment in evaluating outputs.
  • Apply AI technologies (e.g., generative AI, automation tools, data models) to enhance insights, improve delivery efficiency, and elevate the quality of client outcomes.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in progress, with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and August 2028
    • You will be asked to confirm your expected graduation month and year at the offer stage and prior to beginning your internship
    • We do request & review official transcripts from your school prior to the start of our internship program
    • If your expected graduation date falls outside of this range or changes, you are not eligible for this internship
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without limitation or sponsorship now or in the future (e.g., OPT, H-1B visa, TN, etc.)
  • Reside within 50 miles of your assigned office prior to your start date; our culture emphasizes team collaboration within a hybrid work model
  • Ability and willingness to travel (up to 50%); travel expenses covered by West Monroe
  • Experience integrating AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) into day-to-day workflows to enhance productivity and insight generation, coupled with strong critical thinking to assess accuracy, mitigate bias, and ensure high-quality outputs
