Department: Montgomery County Animal Services Job Title: Foster Coordinator Job Grade: 8 Hourly Pay Rate: $19.87 - $25.78 Location: 8535 State Hwy 242 Conroe, TX 77385 Civil Service: Yes Shift Hours: Sunday - Saturday 9:00am - 6:00pm (1 hour lunch).

(Schedule subject to change. Will have two days off per week.) Education, Experience and Skill Requirements • College degree required • 3-5 years professional experience; management or leadership experience a plus • Prior experience working with a municipality, government or nonprofit a plus • Highly motivated, out-going, polite, and professional manner • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations involving individuals and companion animals • Ability to deal with sometimes unpleasant issues related to people or situations • Must be a team player, able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task • Knowledge of animal breeds and behavior helpful • Strong computer skills. Chameleon software experience a plus • Highly organized and detail oriented • Comfortable working in an animal shelter environment Primary Job Duties • In partnership with Shelter veterinarians, medical staff, and animal care technicians, identifies "fosterable" animals and makes foster pleas via pleas social media and email • Responds to, follows up with, and updates foster pleas for pets in need • Expands the foster base through active recruitment and thoughtful development of existing foster program elements • Registers new fosters and keeps current information for established fosters • Assists with planning and coordinating transfers of animals from the shelter to out-of-state humane organizations • Communicates with fosters regarding medical needs, adoption events, issues, progress, among many other foster-related concerns • Educates fosters with information and support for their success and their foster animal's adoption-readiness • Works with other Coordinators to create a vital and positive interface with community volunteers to save lives and bring shelter pets into forever homes • Performs other duties as assigned After receiving a conditional offer of employment, applicant must pass a drug screen (1/2 cost = $20.00, responsibility of applicant) and may need a physical agility test (1/2 cost = $22.50, responsibility of applicant) before becoming an employee of Montgomery County.
