Chair a Department Built for Balance Leadership Without Burnout
Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus, a community-focused hospital within RWJBarnabas Health, is seeking a Chairman of Anesthesiology to lead its anesthesia services in Lakewood, New Jersey. This role offers a rare leadership opportunity in a setting that runs more like a surgical center than a hospitalfeaturing low case volume, predictable hours, and minimal call-back burden.
With no OB, trauma, cardiac, or neurosurgery, and a commitment to serving the local population, this is the ideal position for an anesthesiologist who values clinical excellence, professional respect, and a sustainable lifestyle.

3-room operating suite
1 endoscopy suite (runs 2 days/week)
Case types include:
o General surgery
o Urology
o Limited orthopedics
o Pediatric dental
Low daily case volume
Most OR days end before 4 PM

Leadership:
Oversee anesthesia operations, staffing, and scheduling
Foster a culture of collaboration, professionalism, and community service
Serve as a liaison between anesthesia staff and hospital leadership
Lead recruitment and quality initiatives
Clinical:
Provide direct anesthesia care in a low-acuity setting
Supervise or work alongside CRNAs and physician colleagues
Maintain a visible, supportive presence in the OR
Call:
Light call rotation

Call functions mostly as standby coverage, not in-house service
