Overview
JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Maintenance Foreman, the employee will assist in performing general building maintenance and repair work in plumbing, carpentry, mechanical, and electrical. The employee will also assist with the preparation of meals for catered events, including food service preparation, cleaning the kitchen, and set-up/break down for meals at catered events.

Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Maintenance
  • Understand and practice commitment to Doyon, Limited's safety culture
  • Perform the job in a safe manner, following all safety rules, regulations, and guidelines
  • Perform general maintenance duties such as plumbing, carpentry, mechanical, electrical, and general maintenance; duties to include but not limited to:
    o Plumbing: unclogging drains, replacing fixtures, and repairing exposed leaks in water and waste lines
    o Carpentry: simple repairs to furniture, trip hazards, cabinetry and countertops, hanging drywall, and painting
    o Mechanical: small engine repair on a snow blower, leaf blower & chainsaw.; repair HVAC filters and bags
    o Electrical: resetting circuit breakers and GFCI, replacing lamps and ballasts
  • Perform clean-up and some janitorial duties
  • Shovel and sand sidewalks
  • Must be able to read and understand building and equipment diagrams and maintenance instructions
  • Handling moving and storage of miscellaneous items; Ability to lift 50 pounds safely
  • Bend, stoop, reach, and work safely from ladders
  • Work independently or cooperatively as a member of a team to complete scheduled projects according to quality control standards
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the supervisor, co-workers, building occupants, and the public
  • Basic knowledge of small tools and building operational components
  • Ability to interact effectively with tenants and subcontractors
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks and deadlines
  • May be called to work during unestablished work hours during emergencies and/or special projects
  • Other duties as assigned

Catering/Kitchen
  • Follow proper food safety and sanitization procedures
  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of food for catered events
  • Wash, peel, cut, and seed fruits and vegetables
  • Clean, cut, slice, and grind meats, poultry, fish, and seafood
  • Set up/break down catered buffet-style meals at events
  • Clean refrigerator, microwave, stoves, equipment, kitchen supplies, dishes, and kitchen area after each use
  • Shop, deliver, and stock food inventory

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: The majority of work is performed in a maintenance/general labor and kitchen settings with a wide variety of people with differing functions, personalities and abilities.
