Reports To: The Chief Executive Officer
Manages: Finance, Information Technology, and HR Department oversight

Position Summary:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for directing the corporation’s fiscal functions in accordance with GAAP, regulatory guidance, and industry best practices. The CFO oversees treasury management, budgeting, financial reporting, information technology, and compliance. Acting as a strategic business partner, the CFO provides financial insight to support decision-making, risk management, and long-term planning while collaborating with senior leadership and the Board.

Work Environment & Position Details:

  • Full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday–Friday, with flexibility based on departmental needs.
  • Primarily office environment with occasional exposure to warehouse or field conditions.
  • No travel required.
  • Must maintain a professional and organized workspace for in-person or virtual meetings.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Management

  • Serve as a strategic partner in evaluating and managing the company’s financial performance, aligning financial objectives with growth strategies.
  • Develop and implement policies, processes, and performance metrics to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations for business initiatives, sales/marketing plans, pricing projects & models, and potential mergers/acquisitions.
  • Collaborate with HR and senior leadership on workforce planning, compensation strategy, and organizational effectiveness.

Financial Analysis, Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead financial planning and analysis, developing short- and long-term budgets, forecasts, and projections.
  • Utilize forward-looking and activity-based models to inform operational decisions.
  • Maintain and monitor operating and capital budgets, profit and loss by product, branch, or cost center.
  • Manage short- and long-term cash flow planning, capital, facilities, and staff requirements.

Financial Management

  • Coordinate with Operations/PMs to optimize GP% on Projects
  • Optimize cash, investments, working capital, and banking relationships.
  • Identify and evaluate investment opportunities and financial risk.
  • Oversee financial compliance, reporting, and controls.

Accounting & Operations

  • Oversee accounting systems, software, and processes to ensure accuracy and GAAP compliance.
  • Coordinate with the Finance Team to achieve team goals, monitor internal controls, and ensure timely financial reporting.
  • Approve financial statements for Board of Directors review.
  • Ensure compliance with tax, legal, audit, and regulatory requirements.

Legal & Compliance Oversight

  • Review contracts, manage legal relationships, and oversee corporate legal matters, including budgeting for legal services.
  • Ensure company-wide compliance across financial, legal, and HR functions.

Reporting & Meetings

  • Monthly: Financial statements, variance analysis, balanced scorecards, cash flow forecasts, departmental reporting
  • Weekly: Finance department meetings, L10 meetings
  • Monthly/Quarterly: Board updates, management meetings, quarterly offsite planning

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field, or 10+ years of equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or advanced degree
  • CCIFP or CMA
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as CFO in a $50–100M+ organization
  • 10+ years’ accounting or finance experience
