SCHEDULE: Full-time; Exempt
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the Senior Administrative Team, providing executive leadership and strategic direction for all financial operations of Myrtue Medical Center, Shelby County Medical Corporation, as well as Health Partners of Southwest Iowa governed under a 28E agreement. The CFO is responsible for safeguarding the Hospital's financial integrity, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting long-term financial sustainability, and advancing the Hospital's mission through sound financial stewardship. As a member of the Administrative Team, the CFO partners with the CEO, Board of Trustees, Board Financial Committee, Medical Staff and Department leaders to develop strategic initiatives, optimize operational performance, and ensure the effective use of financial resources. He/she adheres to the philosophy and mission of Myrtue Medical Center in all aspects of job performance.
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration is required: Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Healthcare Administration (MHA), Finance or related field strongly preferred. CPA and HFMA certification or other healthcare finance credential preferred. Minimum of seven years of progressively responsible financial leadership. Minimum of five years of leadership experience in healthcare finance, Controller, Vice President/President of Finance, or Chief Financial Officer role. Critical Access Hospital, rural hospital, or community hospital experience is highly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Critical Access Hospital reimbursement methodologies and Medicare Cost Reports
  • Experience with revenue cycle management
  • Knowledge of physician compensation, strategic financial planning and analysis, forecasting and capital planning
  • Experience presenting to governing boards and performing annual audits
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships across clinical and operational departments
  • High level of integrity, professionalism and sound judgment
