Overview

Join Baker Tilly's Development Advisory (DA) practice as aManager, Construction Compliance Advisory. In this leadership role, you will lead construction risk engagements, including construction contract audits and controls assessments, helping clients strengthen governance, improve project controls, and mitigate risk throughout the construction project lifecycle.

Construction contract audits span projects from design through closeout and evaluate areas such as procurement, contracting, contractor management, safety, project administration, compliance, cost management, scheduling, and financial controls. In addition to providing assurance over contractor costs and billings, you will deliver actionable recommendations and partner with clients to implement meaningful process improvements.

As aManager, you will lead client engagements, oversee multidisciplinary project teams, contribute to business development efforts, and serve as a trusted advisor to client leadership and executive stakeholders. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-impact engagements in a collaborative, fast-paced environment while continuing to grow your technical and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead construction compliance and risk engagements, including construction contract audits and controls assessments.
  • Serve as the engagement manager and trusted advisor for client engagements, building strong relationships with client stakeholders.
  • Apply Baker Tilly's construction auditmethodologyto evaluate construction projects throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Perform and oversee detailed reviews ofconstructionfinancial records, contracts, billings, and project documentation to assess compliance with contractual requirements, industry standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Identifyproject risks, control gaps, and process improvement opportunities, and develop practical recommendations to mitigate risk and enhance project performance.
  • Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously, including project planning, budgets, staffing, schedules, quality control, and risk management.
  • Prepare and review high-quality workpapers, reports, and client deliverables.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and client stakeholders to ensure efficient project execution and successful engagement outcomes.
  • Lead proposal development, presentations, and business development activities to support practice growth.
  • Mentor and develop consultants and senior consultants while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team culture.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4-year degree
  • 5 years of professional experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Construction Management, Engineering, ora relatedfield.
  • Five (5) or more years of relevant professional experience in construction, internal audit, accounting, finance, project management, engineering, consulting, ora relateddiscipline.
  • Professional certification such as CPA, CIA, CFE, PMP, CCA, CCP, CA, or another relevant credential, or a willingness to obtain certification.
  • 2+ years direct or indirect leadership experience
  • Experience with construction contract auditing, project controls, construction risk, compliance, or internal audit.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex issues and recommend practical solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present findings to a variety of stakeholders, including executive leadership.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and client engagements in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Highly collaborative with the ability to work independently and across cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams.
  • Strong client service mindset with a commitment to quality, continuous learning, and professional integrity.
  • Proficiencyin Microsoft Excel and Word for data analysis, documentation, and reporting.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to client and project sites.

The US National pay rate range for this job position is $59,400-$236,800. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety ofrelevant factors including but not limited to applicant's skills, prior experience, qualifications, degrees,professional certifications, work arrangements and geographic location.
