Job description

Big Blue Marble Academy (BBMA) is an early childhood development and education leader with more than 90 schools across 9 states. Our programs include early care, childcare, preschool, and after-school care designed around what a child needs for their age and stage of development. Our curriculum is focused on global education and teaching children the importance of giving back and helping others in need. We the structure and encouragement children need to foster their curiosity and love of learning. Our teachers provide children with hands-on activities preparing them for success in school.
This position requires travel throughout the Southeast region. Due to the travel demands and business needs of the role, candidates must currently reside within the Southeast region.
Quality Assurance Manager Job Description
The Quality Assurance Manager (QA) plays a critical role in risk prevention, safety and compliance, all of which help ensure operational excellence across BBMA's portfolio of schools. Working in connection with school management and higher levels of BBMA Operations, this position plays a critical role in "left-of-loss" risk prevention, and ensuring ongoing compliance with safety, and regulatory initiatives while driving consistency, quality, and continuous improvement to ensure each school meets and exceeds BBMA's standards.
The QA Manager works collaboratively across departments to ensure schools feel fully supported as they enhance overall operational quality, fostering a culture of accountability, partnership, and continuous growth.
Job Responsibilities
• Lead and execute quality assurance audits across all locations identifying compliance gaps
• Predict and prevent risks before they materialize
• Establish and track KPIs and report trends and build early-warning systems and predictive models related to quality, compliance and service delivery
• Partner proactively with all levels of BBMA Operations to ensure assigned schools operate in compliance with federal, state, and local laws, and childcare licensing regulations - evaluate performance against standards
• Develop, train, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures and best practices - develop risk-awareness culture and scenario-based readiness
• Monitor adherence to company policies, safety standards, and licensing requirements
• Identify opportunities to improve consistency, efficiency, and overall school performance
• Analyze operational and other data to drive improvements in quality
• Support all levels of BBMA Operations through coaching and ongoing development
• Create and manage training content within the Learning Management System (LMS)
• Conduct regular site visits (60-75% travel) to evaluate school performance
• Identify recurring issues and partner with leadership to implement sustainable solutions
• Develop and manage auditing tools, reporting systems, and tracking processes
• Review parent and staff feedback to improve service quality and experience
• Prepare detailed reports on audit findings, trends, and improvement plans
• Communicate insights and recommendations to senior leadership and other key stakeholders
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment and successful implementation of initiatives
• Lead special projects related to quality, compliance, and operational improvements
• Maintain confidentiality of all company information and data
Educational and Experience Requirements
• A Bachelor's degree with a preference for an additional certification in Certified Risk Management Professional (CRMP), Risk Management Professional (RMP), Certified Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP), Certified Safety and Health Manager (CSHM), OSHA Safety and Health Fundamentals, Certified Risk Manager (CRM) and similar certifications
• Background in building early-warning or predictive analytics systems
• Minimum of five (5) years of risk management and quality assurance experience which may be with combined operations experience, preferably in multi-site environments
• Preferred knowledge of childcare licensing regulations and compliance standards
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
• Experience with quality assurance systems, databases, and reporting tools
• Proven ability to manage multi-site projects and drive results
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to details
• Takes initiative and completes tasks autonomously while maintaining quality standards
• Able to travel regularly to support business needs
