Job description

Business Technology Integrators (BTI) is seeking Cable Installers/Technicians with Top Secret Clearance for contract with the Department of State. This role involves extensive international travel to various US embassies and consulates to perform Wi-Fi Survey and Wi-Fi Installation services. The ideal candidates will be responsible for overseeing and installing telephone, coaxial, and fiber optic cables, diagnosing signal transmission issues, and preparing detailed reports.Key Responsibilities:
  • Install and oversee the setup of telephone, coaxial, and fiber optic cables, including vertical and horizontal cable pairs to end-user workstations.
  • Perform Wi-Fi Surveys and Wi-Fi Installations at U.S. embassies and consulates worldwide.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot signal transmission defects using specialized test equipment and visual inspection techniques.
  • Utilize tools and equipment such as ground power and pressure equipment for cable installation and maintenance.
  • Ensure that all cable installations adhere to safety standards and meet the technical specifications of the contract.
  • Prepare and submit necessary technical reports related to installation and troubleshooting activities.
  • Communicate directly with technical staff and management personnel to provide updates and resolve issues.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum Experience: 6+ years of experience in cable installation (telephone, coaxial, and fiber optic).
  • Certifications: RCDD and/or BICSI certifications preferred but not required.
  • Strong ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and fix signal transmission defects using advanced testing tools.
  • Comfortable working with a wide range of tools, including cable testing equipment and power tools.
Requirements:
  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance is required for this position.
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally for extended periods.
  • Proven track record of successful cable installations and troubleshooting in diverse environments.
Preferred Certifications:
  • RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) or BICSI (Building Industry Consulting Service International) certifications are a plus but not mandatory.
Working Conditions:
