Job Summary: Technical/Professional Inspector - Receiving Inspection (Severn, MD)
About the Role:
Launch your career at Lockheed Martin's Severn Operations as a Technical/Professional Inspector, supporting the manufacturing of advanced air and space-based RF systems. Work at the forefront of aerospace innovation, collaborating with top-tier engineering and manufacturing teams to deliver high-stakes prototype and production builds. This role is ideal for quality-driven professionals passionate about precision, compliance, and continuous improvement in a dynamic, high-impact environment.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect purchased parts and materials for strict adherence to engineering specifications and company standards
- Examine electronic components, including bare boards, COTS items, and custom-fabricated parts, for material and workmanship defects as well as transit damage
- Conduct precise measurements to verify dimensional accuracy, fit, alignment, and functional operation
- Review supplier certifications, packing slips, and test reports for compliance with Lockheed Martin requirements
- Identify, label, and thoroughly document all non-conforming, defective, or damaged materials
- Provide direct quality assurance oversight for Receiving Inspection labs
- Participate in Material Review Boards (MRBs) to ensure effective handling of nonconforming materials and processes
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of Quality Assurance experience in a Receiving Inspection environment
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and blueprints
- Deep familiarity with AS9100 standards and experience supporting internal/external audits

- High attention to detail in defect identification and record keeping
