A typical day for a Certified Medical Assistant may include:

  • Preparing patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs, documenting medical histories, and ensuring they feel comfortable and informed throughout their visit
     
  • Assisting physicians and advanced practice providers during examinations and procedures, anticipating clinical needs to support efficient, high-quality care
     
  • Performing clinical tasks such as administering injections, collecting specimens, conducting point-of-care testing, and completing other duties within scope of practice
     
  • Accurately documenting patient information, test results, and provider instructions within the electronic medical record to support continuity of care
     
  • Coordinating patient flow by preparing exam rooms, maintaining supplies, and helping ensure appointments run efficiently
     
  • Providing clear, compassionate education to patients regarding medications, treatment plans, follow-up appointments, and preventive care
     
  • Scheduling appointments, processing referrals, and collaborating with the care team to support seamless patient experiences

  • This position offers a consistent Monday through Friday schedule working 8:30 am to 5:30 pm (40 hours per week).
     
  • You hold a current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential (AAMA, AECA, AMCA, AMT, NAHP, NCCT, NCMA, or NHA) and a current American Heart Association BLS certification.
     
  • A minimum of 6 months of CMA experience is required and electronic medical record (EMR) systems, Epic, knowledge is preferred.
