Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Certified Medical Assistant
  • To be considered for this position, you must either:
    • Hold a current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), or
    • Be a graduate of a CAAHEP- or ABHES-accredited Medical Assistant program that qualifies you to perform injections. Graduates of CAAHEP- or ABHES-accredited medical assisting programs are eligible for the CMA (AAMA) certification pathway.
  • 1 year experience as a Medical Assistant

Job Responsibilities:

  • Greets patients in a warm and welcoming environment and answers telephones.
  • Updates and files patient medical records.
  • Collects patient medical histories and records vital signs.
  • Prepares patients for examination and explains treatment procedures to patients as needed.
  • Gathers and prepares laboratory specimens, and may perform basic laboratory tests on the premises.
  • Disposes contaminated supplies.
  • Instructs patients about medication and special diets, and orders/obtains injectable medications from the onsite pharmacy as directed by a physician.
