Position Overview The Office of Business Services is seeking to hire a position to serve as Mailroom Machine Operator to operate Multiline Optical Character Reader (MLOCR) barcoding/sorting system/equipment machines and operates inserting machines/equipment while receiving training in the operation of more complex computerized mailing systems.

Essential Functions Serves as Mailroom Machine Operator. Operates inserting system and equipment machines. Receives training in the operation of a variety of computerized mailing systems, to include Video Jet and address labeling systems.

Maintains personal work area and ensures common areas are picked up, cleaned, and organized daily. Operates and processes computer generated listings, as well as official Agency distributions verifying compliance to Agency, State and Federal Regulations. Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to the completion of high school. Preferred Qualifications One (1) year of experience utilizing skill in the operation of mail barcoding/sorting and inserting equipment. One (1) year of experience utilizing skill in the operation of high-speed mail equipment.

One (1) year of experience working with mechanical mail equipment operation principles. One (1) year of experience following and oral and written instructions. One (1) year of experience processing computer generated documents ensuring compliance to Agency, State and Federal regulations.

Conditions of Employment Requires the ability to follow oral and written instructions. Requires the ability to lift 50 pounds. Requires skills and dexterity in the operation of mechanical equipment.
