Certified hyperbaric technologists (CHTs) provide medical treatment to patients with a hyperbaric chamber. They follow the specific treatment requests of the patient's doctor or health care provider. In this role, you may offer training on breathing techniques, explain hyperbaric systems, watch for signs of medical problems, and operate a hyperbaric chamber. CHTs sometimes work in time-sensitive environments, particularly when treating patients who are suffering from diving sicknesses and need to get into a pressurized chamber as quickly as possible. This job title focuses exclusively on operating hyperbaric chambers for medical purposes and should not be confused with jobs that run hyperbaric chambers for other reasons.
