Job description

Our ideal candidate should have previous experience as a Tire technician.
The Tire Mechanic will be DOT Certified. We are looking for a self-motivated person with strong work ethics. Responsible for repairing, replacing, and maintaining tires on all DOT Equipment

Job Duties will include but not limited to:

• Preventative maintenance and repair all Tires on Semi-Trailers to meet the standards set forth by DOT
• Install new tires and wheels 
• Perform maintenance on tires, Including rotation, balancing repairs and cleaning
• Repair tires
• Remove and replace hubs

• Clean up work area at the end of shift
• Keep work areas neat and orderly
• Regular attendance and punctuality are essential job functions
• Organizing materials to have more effective use of space
• Dispose of various waste materials in the appropriate manner
• Inspection to ensure cleanup is completed

Qualifications
• DOT certifications 
• Must pass a medical physical, drug screen and background check
• Must be punctual and good attendance required for this position
• Preferred – high school diploma or GED and/or foreign education acceptable
• Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) language skills a plus
• Ability to: communicate with others effectively; understand direction (written or oral) and use basic math skills as the job demands
• Diesel Mechanic school or certification a plus

  Job Expectations

Comply with all applicable federal, state, local, & SA Recycling safety, health, & environmental rules, regulations, policies, & procedures. 

Effective housekeeping in workplace area is an ongoing operation for safety and better hygienic conditions for all team members.

 Physical Requirements

• Work Environment: Scrap yard, large equipment metal processing area
• Equipment & Tools: Yard equipment, electrical Safety equipment, hand tools, and PPE specialized for electricians.
• Physical Demand Level: Moderate,
• Work Capacity: Mechanic Work Capacity
• Sensory Demands: Hearing, vision, smell, touch and taste
• Hand Movements: Repetitive motions, gripping, twisting
