Maximus is seeking a Certification Lead to manage end-to-end certification activities, including system implementation support, audits, and ongoing compliance. This role provides leadership across cross-functional teams while driving process improvement and supporting regulatory-driven program objectives.
**This is a fully remote position. Requires 25% travel. ***

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Change Management process focused on Business Analytics and support the Operations group as it relates to our shared services programs.
- Manage a team of analysts and serve as the main point of contact for internal business customers.
- Assist in implementing technology projects while ensuring that initiatives are met in a timely manner.
- Improve, develop, maintain, and adhere to life cycle work patterns, standards, and procedures for systems development.
- Support critical business strategies by monitoring the overall development, implementation, and maintenance of the customer's business application systems.
- Create and maintain list of service requests, communicate status to internal and external stakeholders, supply input to Project Change Control Board, and respond to their requests for information.
- Work directly with application development manager to ensure the development resources required are available to meet customer driven project timelines.
- Ensure appropriate testing materials are created to ensure a successful software implementation deployment.
- Assist in providing system documentation to include functional specifications, testing documents, user manuals, and training materials.
- Participate in external and internal project meetings to represent Maximus in addressing the needs of the client and other project stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other managers to ensure effective coordination of activities.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with clients and other external entities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the project CMS certification lifecycle, including initial certification, audits, surveys, ongoing compliance, and recertification processes document management functions.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for certification operations, collaborating with state staff, internal business partners, technology teams, and external stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain lifecycle work patterns, standards, procedures, and documentation for certification systems and business processes
- Guide and support analysts and cross-functional resources by setting priorities, providing direction, and ensuring alignment with program objectives.
- Apply business process improvement and re-engineering methodologies to certification workflows to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Support the implementation of technology and system enhancements related to certification processes, ensuring milestones and deliverables are achieved on schedule.
- Create, track, and manage certification service requests, issues, and change requests, communicating status and impacts to stakeholders as needed.
- Collaborate closely with application development and operations teams to ensure appropriate resources are available to meet certification and regulatory-driven timelines.
- Develop and maintain certification-related documentation, including functional specifications, procedures, testing documents, user guides, and training materials.
- Participate in internal and external meetings to represent the organization in addressing certification requirements, risks, and stakeholder needs.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with clients, regulators, vendors, and internal partners to support certification outcomes.
- Collaborate with managers and functional leads to ensure alignment, effective coordination, and continuous improvement across programs and shared services.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in related field.
- 7-10 years of relevant professional experience required.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience considered in lieu of degree.
Program Specific Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5-8 years of experience in certification operations, systems implementation, and process improvement.
- Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating cross-functional initiatives or workstreams.
- Experience supporting technology solutions, including requirements, testing, and implementation.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
Program Specific Preferences
- Experience in regulated, shared services, or certification-driven environments preferred.
