Location: San Luis Obispo, CA

Duration: 8 Weeks
Shift: Rotating Shifts
Schedule: 10-Hour Shifts
Hours: 40 Hours/Week
Pay Rate: $80 – $87/hr
Estimated Weekly Pay: $3,200 – $3,480/week

Job Summary

Adventist Health Sierra Vista is seeking an experienced Pharmacist to provide clinical and distributive pharmacy services in an acute care hospital setting. The Pharmacist will review medication orders, ensure safe medication practices, support IV compounding operations, and collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to optimize patient care.


Requirements
  • Current Epic experience required

  • Must successfully pass IV training

  • Experience with IV compounding

  • Familiarity with pediatric and neonatal patient populations

  • Acute care hospital pharmacy experience preferred

  • Strong knowledge of medication safety and pharmacy regulations

  • Ability to work rotating shifts and participate in call coverage


Required Credentials
  • Active Pharmacist License

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree from an accredited program

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy

  • Pharmacy Department Open:

    • Monday–Friday: 6:00 AM – 9:00 PM

    • Saturday–Sunday: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM

  • EMR: Cerner

  • Pharmacy Staffing:

  • Scrubs: No color requirement for Pharmacists


Call & Weekend Requirements
  • Call Required

  • Closing Pharmacist remains on-call until pharmacy reopens the following morning

  • Weekend Coverage Required

  • Up to every other weekend
