Job description

TeamHealth is seeking a board-certified emergency medicine physician to serve as medical director at the Saint Vincent Hospital emergency department in Worcester, MA.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced emergency medicine leader to provide clinical, operational, and strategic oversight of the department. This role offers a balanced mix of hands-on clinical care and administrative leadership, with the opportunity to partner closely with hospital leadership to drive quality outcomes, operational efficiency, and patient experience initiatives.
The 38-bed ED manages approximately 52,000 annual visits and operates within a collaborative, physician-led environment supported by strong clinical and administrative infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and direction for emergency physicians and advanced practice clinicians
  • Oversee clinical performance, quality metrics, and patient experience initiatives
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership to optimize ED operations and integration with hospital services
  • Implement best practices to enhance efficiency, quality, and patient safety
  • Mentor and develop clinical staff while fostering a culture of excellence and compassion
Qualifications
  • Board certified in EM (ABEM or AOBEM)
  • 3 to 5 years of clinical leadership experience preferred
  • Demonstrated success in performance improvement and team leadership
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care
Opportunity Overview:

Competitive compensation with an estimated base salary range of $359,200 to $474,000 annually with the opportunity to earn incentives.
