Description

American Traveler is hiring an IR/Cath Lab Technologist with 2+ years of experience for a 13-week travel assignment requiring ARRT-R certification and a fluoro permit.

Details
  • Work in an Interventional Radiology/Cath Lab setting handling IR, vascular, and pain management procedures
  • Cases also occur in CT and X-ray, though floating to these areas is not required
  • 5x8 hour day shifts Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with Wednesday 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
  • No on-call or weekend requirements
  • Every other holiday coverage required
  • Uses Cerner charting system
  • Utilizes Philips Azurion C-arm and portable C-arm equipment
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of recent experience within the last 7 years required
  • Current ARRT-R, ACLS, BLS certifications, and fluoro permit required
  • MD license or compact license required if applicable
  • Prior travel assignment experience required
  • Cerner charting system experience required
  • Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
  • Proficient in scrubbing for IR, vascular, and pain management procedures
  • Experience with tunneled catheter placements, embolizations, drain placements, and PEG tube placements
  • Experience with pain management procedures including epidural blocks and radiofrequency ablations
  • Experience with vascular procedures including angiograms, thrombectomies, fistulograms, and IVC filter placements
Additional Information
  • Responsibilities include accurate patient monitoring, equipment set up, EKG lead placement, and access site preparation
  • Perform procedures across abdominal/pelvic, vascular, neurological, and genitourinary specialties including angioplasty, stent placements, and biopsies
  • Recognize and respond to life-threatening arrhythmias
  • Maintain sterile field while scrubbing for procedures
  • Experience with CT and ultrasound equipment preferred
  • IV start skills preferred
  • First-time travelers are not considered for this role given the travel experience requirement
  • Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted at a lower rate
  • No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment, with a maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
  • Previous MedStar employees must have a minimum one-year separation before returning as a traveler
