Commercial Tile & Resilient Flooring Installer - Traveling Position

Job Responsibilities:
  • Hands-On Execution: Perform a wide range of commercial flooring tasks with a strong focus on high-quality finish work. This includes the installation of ceramic tile, porcelain, and natural stone, as well as non-resinous systems such as Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP), Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT), VCT, rubber flooring, and carpet tile.
  • Surface Preparation & Installation: Competently execute substrate preparation (skimming, patch/feather finish, self-leveling, and moisture mitigation) to ensure a perfectly flat surface for LVP/LVT, as well as floating mud beds and backer board for tile.
  • Layout & Planning: Read and interpret project specifications and drawings to accurately lay out work, centering patterns, minimizing cuts, and ensuring precise square footage coverage for both tile grids and plank staggers.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively with the Site Supervisor and other crew members to ensure tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
  • Quality Control: Uphold Trimerge's standards for excellence by performing self-inspections of your work to ensure a high-quality, defect-free installation (checking for tight seams, proper adhesive transfer, lippage, and pattern alignment).
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all company and OSHA safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and the entire team.
  • Problem-Solving: Proactively identify and report on-site issues to the Site Supervisor, offering practical solutions where possible to keep the project moving forward.

Job Qualifications:
  • Accurate measuring and math skills required (specifically for square footage calculations and pattern layout).
  • Good physical condition and dexterity.
  • Deep knowledge of commercial flooring materials, tools, and techniques.
  • Demonstrated expertise in resilient flooring installation (glue-down and click-lock LVP/LVT, VCT layout, heat welding is a plus) as well as standard tile setting.
  • Proficiency in using wet saws, vinyl cutters, floor scrapers, and proper trowel selection for various adhesives.
  • The ability to read and interpret commercial construction blueprints and finish schedules is mandatory.
  • Strong understanding of job site safety requirements and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as part of a larger team.
  • Professional demeanor and strong communication skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively for extended periods is a firm requirement of this position.
  • OSHA 10 certification is a plus.
