In this role, you'll craft high-quality tile surfacesaboard ships and submarines while learning specialized skills in SHT TileInstallation - essential for nuclear-powered submarines. What You'll Do:

  • Surface Preparation: Prep, level, and smooth subfloors for optimal tile installation.
  • Precision Tile Installation: Measure, cut, and install composite tiles in submarines and ship compartments.
  • Caulking & Finishing: Apply caulk and finishing touches for long-lasting, slip-resistant surfaces.
  • Tile Repair & Replacement: Replace damaged tiles, caulking, and repair surfaces as needed.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all work meets shipyard specifications, safety protocols, and maritime standards.
  • Maintain Safety & Cleanliness: Follow shipyard safety procedures, wear proper PPE, and keep the workspace organized.

What We're Looking For:

  • Carpentry Experience: Previous work in commercial carpentry or large-scale construction.
  • Tile Installation Skills: Proficiency in installing ceramic or composite tiles in high-traffic, industrial, or shipboard environments.
  • Industrial/Shipyard Experience: Experience working in shipyards, manufacturing plants, or industrial settings is a plus.
  • Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and ship specifications.
  • Tool Proficiency: Skilled with manual and power tools (saws, drills, tile cutters, and more).
  • Physical Stamina: Comfortable lifting materials, kneeling, and working in tight shipboard spaces.
  • DBIDS Eligibility: Ability to pass a background check for access to military shipyards (NNSY, HII).
