Job description

GENERAL SUMMARY OF THE JOB

This position is for a mechanically inclined individual who possesses a positive attitude and desire to continuous improvement. This position will install, maintain, and repair and alter machine components. 

This person will be a key player in ensuring first time quality and delivery change over components to the headers. The Tool/Pack Room will work toward ensuring on-time delivery and first time quality of changeover components to the headers during changeovers.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide assistance to machine operators on new job development
Ability to operate Tool Room equipment with limited supervision to meet necessary quality and productivity requirements. Horizontal, vertical hones, OD/ID grinders, surface grinders, centerless, and polishing.
Ability to read most manufacturing and tooling prints, select and prepare necessary tools to meet print tolerances.
Utilize Toolroom inspection equipment - micrometers, calipers, indicators, contour tracers, microscope, and comparators).
Maintains cleanliness of work area.
Follows company safety guidelines.
Performs preventative maintenance when required.
Programming and setup of CNC machines.
Knowledge of tools to perform turning, milling, drilling, and boring.
Responsible for own inspection of tooling.
Strong Mathematical and problem solving skills.
All other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED

Basic computer skills using Google Workspace (sheets, docs, drive, chat, Gmail, etc.)
Solid math skills 
Mechanically inclined, shop classes or manufacturing process training is required
Basic problem solving skills Ability to identify routine problem causation and correct routine problems
Willingness to learn new areas of the business
