Nature of Work THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE'S CEMETERY DEPARTMENT WANTS YOU. The City of Huntsville's Cemetery department is seeking qualified applicants to fill our Cemetery Maintenance Worker position(s). Exciting Career Opportunities for Smart and Talented People.

Come join our growing Cemetery Team. Apply today. About our Department: All nine City-maintained cemeteries are located within the city limits.

Only four have active burials: Maple Hill, Glenwood, Northside and Brandontown. The City sells plots for the Maple Hill Cemetery. The City's cemeteries function not only as historic landmarks but also educational tools in educating Huntsville's children.

Cemetery Maintenance Worker Position Overview: This is manual work requiring physical strength in maintaining City cemetery grounds. Work requires skill in the operation of small to medium equipment, trucks, and farm tractors. Work involves performing a wide variety of cemetery maintenance tasks.

Work also involves the operation of small to medium sized tractors and mowers; scheduling or performing preventive maintenance and performing minor repairs. Qualifications and Necessary Special Requirements: Some experience in grounds maintenance or construction work and some experience driving a truck or tractor, or mower; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid driver's license is required.
