CEM's headquarters is located in Matthews, NC and operates subsidiaries in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, and Singapore.CEM Corporation (Matthews, NC) is seeking a highly self-motivated individual to join our team as a Applications Specialist. In this pivotal role, the Applications Specialist will be responsible for supporting, creating and developing applications for CEM’s Process Control division, including the ORACLE, SMART 6, Phoenix BLACK, Sprint, SAM-255 and legacy units. The 6-month goal for the Applications Specialist is to have the ability to own the entire application development process with moderate support from the team. This will require identifying and performing the appropriate reference testing methods, maintaining an organized and detailed laboratory notebook with results that can be replicated, writing up clear reports from provided templates with accuracy and precision, and communicating results to both internal and external stakeholders. In-house training will be provided on all CEM instrumentation, as well as training on processes developed by the current applications team.Responsibilities:Applications Specialist Responsibilities Include but not limited to:Perform standard reference testing via Kjeldahl digestion, Soxhlet extraction, Acid Hydrolysis and more.Work with applications team to develop novel testing solutions for fat, moisture/solids, protein and ash analyses.Establish clear lines of communication and strong working relationships to support technical and marketing teams.Generate, communicate and present data externally to support and resolve any customer issues.Compile well organized lab reports that contain data that can be reproduced and is easily followed by any member of the process team.Maintain an understanding of CEM technology, competitive technology and standard reference testing methods.Other duties as assigned and where neededQualifications:Required: BA/BS in chemistry, food sciences, biology, or related physical science1-3 years of experience in a laboratory environment, university lab experience welcomedDemonstrated aptitude for technical writing, beyond fact presentation (i.e., white papers, persuasive arguments, application notes, etc.)Previous customer facing and/or large-scale presentation exposure a plusOther Skills:Curiosity to learn new skills and confidence to offer insight from past experienceCustomer centric attitude paired with the willingness to assist the team where neededStrong organization, documentation, planning, interpersonal, written and oral communication skillsCEM Corporation is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including veterans and individuals with disabilities. #J-18808-Ljbffr
