CONSTRUCTION TECHNICIAN

Petro-Com Corporation is currently recruiting experienced Light Duty Construction Technicians to join our Construction team in the Lorain and Northeast Ohio area!

Job Description:

Petro-Com Corporation is looking for a Light Duty Construction Technician to provide excellent customer service in the installation, service, repair, and maintenance of all petroleum equipment. Our ideal candidate will be someone looking for a long-term opportunity, and the chance to grow within the organization. Starting wage for candidates with petroleum construction experience will be based on experience, certifications, and/or accreditations.

Qualifications

  • Possess a valid Driver's License
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Mechanically inclined with a willingness to learn construction techniques
  • Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to pass DOT physical
  • Ability to work overtime when necessary
  • BUSTR certified a plus

Schedule:

  • 8-hour shift
  • Day shift 8:00 am -4:00 pm
  • Monday to Friday
  • Overtime offered at times

  • Starting wage for candidates with petroleum experience will be based on experience, certifications, and/or accreditations.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for construction tasks and projects including fuel equipment removal/installation, spill buckets, sump repairs, fuel motor removal/installation, concrete work/installation, excavation, canopy, lighting, etc.
  • Operate machinery and vehicles including trucks, trailers, lift trucks, bob cats, skid steers, backhoes, light and heavy equipment such as: hand tools, hand power tools, pumps, vacuums, and generators etc.; provide maintenance as required for equipment
  • Work alongside a team to complete general maintenance and repair support tasks for all petroleum project sites
  • Assist to maintain and repair various types of petroleum equipment including dispensers, tank monitors, fuel management systems, etc.
  • Install electronic and mechanical equipment for service stations, commercial fueling facilities and related work
  • Engage in strenuous physical labor including lifting, pulling, and pushing heavy objects
  • Completion of work-related paperwork; time sheets, daily sheets, vehicle inspection, equipment inspections; Promptly report time, travel, and parts used to the office for billing purposes
  • Comply with OSHA safety standards and perform tasks safety, OSHA or Hazwoper certified a plus
  • Remain actively engaged in supporting the Service Team during gaps in specific construction
