YOUR WORK ENVIRONMENT

As Manager, HR Business Partner, you will provide HR partnership to CELINE’s retail network in the United States and Canada. This role will be responsible for managing a broad scope of generalist HR activities for the retail population, ensuring alignment with CELINE’s business objectives and fostering a high-performance culture.

The Manager will serve as a trusted advisor to the Regional Directors in the US and Regional Manager in Canada, providing expert guidance, coaching, and support to drive employee engagement and optimize business performance across the retail network. In partnership with the HR Director, this role will also support store leadership capability, talent development, and execute staffing directives across North America.

YOUR IMPACT Business Partnering / General Management
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the Regional Directors and retail leadership, providing HR guidance and solutions aligned with business objectives.
  • Partner with Store Managers on organizational design and change management initiatives to support business growth and evolution.
  • Translate business needs into actionable HR solutions and initiatives that drive talent retention, engagement, and productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as with CELINE's policies and procedures, and oversee their effective communication to employees.
  • Implement and interpret HR employment policies and procedures across the retail network.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate HR records, files, and reports, ensuring compliance and proper maintenance of personnel records in conjunction with the NY corporate office, including timekeeping, reconciliation of hours, and all HR-related forms.
  • Consistently demonstrate critical managerial skills, including leadership, decisiveness, flexibility, and sound business judgment.
  • Drive team retention and actively reduce retail turnover by analyzing insights from Pulse employee surveys and translating key learnings into actionable HR objectives and initiatives.
Talent Acquisition
  • Lead retail leadership sourcing across the North America retail network
  • Enhance and refine the onboarding process, focusing on employer branding to attract and retain top talent.
  • Provide key partnership in the compensation approval and staffing requisition processes, ensuring alignment with budgetary constraints and organizational needs.
  • Partner with leadership to identify optimal organizational structures, proficiencies, and processes, driving efficiency and effectiveness.
  • In partnership with the HR Director, train store leadership teams on how to effectively source, assess, and engage retail talent to meet store staffing needs.
Job responsibilities Talent Development & Management
  • Partner with Retail leadership and Talent acquisition/development teams to drive the annual Organizational Management Review (OMR) process, identifying high-potential talent, building robust succession pipelines, and supporting development planning across the retail network
  • Provide coaching and development to managers in the field, enhancing their team leadership skills and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement workforce plans aligned with departmental strategic direction and future business needs, ensuring the organization is equipped for growth.
  • Drive the development of high-potential talent through targeted programs, leveraging CELINE and LVMH’s internal resources and external best practices.
  • Oversee the annual performance review process through the RISE platform, ensuring fair and equitable evaluation and development planning.
  • Partner with retail leaders to ensure objectives are properly set for their teams and that annual performance reviews are completed with consistency and quality across the network
Employee Relations
  • Partner closely with the HR Generalist, who serves as the primary point of contact for first-level employee relations matters and exit interviews across the retail network, while managing more complex and high-level employee relations matters as they are escalated.
  • Proactively manage and resolve employee relations issues, including harassment claims, investigations, and conflict resolution, mitigating risk and ensuring legal compliance.
  • Oversee the implementation of performance improvement plans and manage involuntary terminations, partnering with legal counsel on escalated matters.
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable federal, state, and provincial employment and safety laws, maintaining a legally compliant and ethical work environment.
  • Maintain a strong partnership with Corporate and/or Regional HR teams, acting as a store liaison for leave of absence notifications, worker's compensation intake, benefits & compensation inquiries, payroll matters, and all other related HR questions.
  • Conduct market research to ensure employee compensation remains competitive and aligned with budget guidelines.
  • Administer the annual Individual Compensation Review (ICR) process, ensuring equitable and performance-based compensation adjustments.
  • Oversee headcount management and termination processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide second-level support for leave of absence requests and worker's compensation claims, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
Profile KEYS FOR SUCCESS Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or equivalent Human Resources experience
Experience
  • Position requires minimum of 5-7 years of relevant progressive HR experience including people management
  • Proven ability to management multiple priorities In a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Exceptional organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Previous experience with HRIS platforms and ATS recruiting platforms
  • Proficient in MS Excel
  • Experienced HR relations in a retail environment required.
  • Experienced HR relations in luxury fashion is a plus.
  • Comprehensive understanding of US and Canadian labor laws and demonstrated HR acumen
  • Superior organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail oriented, highly organized
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization including senior leadership and retail associates
  • Ability to travel 25-35% to support the North America retail network
  • Flexibility to work a retail schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
