Facility:
This hospital has been the primary source of healthcare services for much of Eastern Connecticut for nearly 120 years. It is home to the only trauma center in New London and Windham counties and the only area hospital with LIFE STAR helicopter services, delivering and coordinating a continuum of high-quality healthcare with the goal of improving the health of its communities.

Advanced Practitioners - Surgery
Job Details:
  • 13-month Post Graduate Clinical Fellowship in Surgery for Physician Assistants, welcoming both new graduates and experienced providers
  • Rotations through multiple surgical departments including general surgery, trauma, thoracic, vascular, colorectal, and SICU
  • Clinical rotations across multiple hospital campuses in Hartford, Norwich, and New Britain
  • Inpatient setting across surgical subspecialties
  • Full-time schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays with no call requirement
  • Final rotation involves orienting the following year's fellowship physician assistants
  • Perform routine physical examinations and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients
  • Develop plans for further evaluation of health needs, including referrals to specialists and other health team members
  • Provide appropriate treatment for problems within scope of practice under established guidelines and in collaboration with supervising physicians
  • Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License required (or eligible)
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Program start dates in April and October; application deadlines are April 1st and September 1st
  • Application requires a one-page statement of interest, unofficial PA school transcript, and three letters of recommendation (from Program Director, Faculty, and a Physician or Physician Assistant)
