Job description

A Medisca Partner, CED Analytical Labs is an analytics testing laboratory that delivers customized solutions with an unwavering commitment to quality and innovation that their customers can always count on. The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for providing assistance to various functions of the laboratory. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in laboratory procedures and techniques, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and accuracy in work.
Responsibilities & Duties:
  • Receive, label and safely store chemicals and reagents in accordance with company procedures.
  • Perform daily verification/calibration of equipment such as pH meter, balances, and Karl Fischer.
  • Ensure lab supplies are sufficiently stocked and within expiry.
  • Perform weekly chemical inventory on all reference standards and reagents.
  • Maintain and review equipment logs for accuracy and completion.
  • Complete daily glassware cleaning and contribute to the cleanliness of the laboratory and workspaces.
  • Prepare simple mobile phases and test when requested.
  • Perform basic chemistry testing in accordance with established procedures.
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe and secure working environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or related field; relevant laboratory experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 1- 2 years of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in an analytical testing environment.
  • Knowledge of laboratory equipment and instrumentation such as pH meter and balances.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work, with a commitment to quality and precision.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to follow established protocols, procedures, and safety guidelines in laboratory operations.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities; fluent in English (oral and written).
  • Integrity, professionalism, and a positive attitude in all aspects of work.
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset, willing to learn from others, and able to work effectively with colleagues to achieve shared goals and objectives.
  • Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols, hazardous materials handling, and waste management practices.
