Job description

Job Summary: The Armament Quality Assurance Representative at the Intermediate Level is responsible for assisting in the implementation of the KAF 4790.2 Series programs within the Intermediate Level armament work centers. This role involves reviewing technical publications, monitoring inspection programs, investigating hazard reports, and supporting production personnel through inspections and training.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Technical Publications and Directives:

    • Review and interpret technical publications and directives.
    • Prepare or assist in preparing required maintenance instructions to ensure compliance with KAF 4790.2 Series programs.
  2. Inspection Programs:

    • Monitor the Collateral Duty Inspection (CDI) and Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR) programs.
    • Evaluate personal qualifications of nominees for CDI and CDQAR designations.
  3. Report Investigation and Preparation:

    • Investigate hazard reports and assist in preparing problem-related reports.
    • Ensure reports such as Engineering Investigation requests, Quality Deficiency Reports, and other discrepancy reports are accurate and comprehensive.
  4. Assistance and Inspections:

    • Provide technical assistance to production personnel.
    • Conduct final inspections as required to maintain quality standards.
  5. Periodic Inspections:

    • Perform periodic inspections of Intermediate work centers and maintenance programs.
    • Ensure compliance with KAF 4790.2 Series and other applicable instructions or directives.
  6. Data Analysis:

    • Analyze maintenance data to identify trends and failure areas.
    • Review source documents and periodic inspection records to detect recurring discrepancies.
  7. Support Equipment:

    • Maintain familiarity with the use of common and specialized support equipment.
  8. Training:

    • Support on-the-job training and cross-training of Kuwait Air Force personnel.
  9. Annual Inventory:

    • Assist with the annual inventory of KAF F/A-18 armament at AAJB Base Magazines, ensuring proper ordnance levels and shelf life compliance.

Qualifications:

  1. Experience:

    • Minimum of four years' experience as an I-Level F/A-18 Armament Technician.
    • Minimum of two years' experience as an I-Level Armament Quality Assurance Representative.
  2. Skills and Knowledge:

    • Proficient in the use of armament tools, support equipment, and technical publications.
    • Thorough understanding of COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2, OPNAVINST 8000.16, and NAVSEA OP-5.
    • Familiarity with F/A-18 related technical manuals.
  3. Technical Proficiency:

    • Computer literate with knowledge of commercial word processing programs.
  4. Security Clearance:

    • Must possess a U.S. Secret security clearance.
