Job Responsibilities

Purpose of the Position: Under general supervision, plans and conducts service or nutritional programs to assist GA WIC Competent Professional Authority meeting all standards as established by GAWIC and CDPH in the performance of those duties. Provides nutritional assessment, education and counseling to individuals, groups or the public. Serves as a resource on nutrition and dietetics to nurses, health educators or other health care providers in the facility. Self-monitors and assures that all GA professional and ethical standards for a state employee are maintained. Self-monitors and assures ongoing professional development necessary to maintain those skills utilizing multiple resources. This position works to promote and protect the health and safety of the residents of Cobb & Douglas Counties Essential Functions (include, but are not limited to): Obtains, documents and plots anthropometrics and finger stick hemoglobin with accuracy on WIC applicants per set guidelines Assesses nutritional needs, diet restrictions and current health plans to develop and implement dietary-care plans and provide nutritional counseling Counsels participants & their families and groups on nutritional principles, dietary plans and diet modifications, healthy eating habits, and nutrition monitoring to improve their quality of life

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in dietetics, human nutrition, foods and nutrition, nutrition education, food systems management, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university, verification statement of completion of a didactic program accredited by The Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics and two (2) years of job-related experience providing nutrition care to groups and individuals; or two (2) years of experience at the lower level Dietitian/Nutritionist 1 (HCP020) or position equivalent. B.S. in eligible degree for Academy Accredited Dietetic Internship. Georgia WIC experience. CLC and/or IBCLC; GA WIC experience; CDPH WIC experience Inventory Management requires lifting of up to 50 pounds Fast-paced work environment: ability to prioritize and self-manage tasks $26.00 Hourly; up to 29 hrs/wk | Part-time (No Benefits) This position will remain open until filled and is subject to close at any time once a satisfactory applicant pool has been identified Cobb and Douglas Public Health a nationally accredited health department, headquartered in Marietta, Georgia since 1920 promotes and protects the health and safety of the residents of Cobb and Douglas counties in partnership with several other agencies.
