Are you a strategic leader who excels at embedding environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles into corporate culture? Do you have a passion for shaping a long-term sustainability vision and delivering transparent, compelling corporate narratives?

We are seeking a Director of Corporate Responsibility to help lead our ESG reporting and strategy. In this role, you will help shape and advance the organization's enterprise-wide ESG strategy, ensuring tight alignment with overall business objectives while driving long-term value creation.

How You Will Contribute

Reporting to the SVP, Chief Sustainability Officer, you will drive our success across several critical areas:

Strategic Leader: Translate enterprise goals into clear priorities, targets, and governance structures that drive measurable ESG outcomes.

ESG Champion: Help drive the integration of ESG priorities-including climate, nature, and corporate responsibility initiatives-into business operations and decision-making.

Governance & Compliance Monitor: Assess emerging global regulations, disclosure requirements, and industry standards, recommending proactive policies to safeguard long-term business resilience.

Collaborative Advisor & Storyteller: Steward the company's corporate responsibility narrative to ensure credible messaging across public and investor channels.

Key Accountabilities

ESG Strategy

  • Develop an ESG reporting and disclosure strategy and roadmap, in-line with corporate objectives, investor expectations, and reporting or regulatory requirements.

  • Lead the materiality assessment process.

  • Monitor emerging ESG regulations, standards, and stakeholder expectations.

  • Oversee climate- and nature-related risk analyses and integrate findings into enterprise risk management (ERM)

  • Support climate and nature-related target setting and initiatives, including tracking of progress.

  • Monitor emerging ESG regulations, standards, and stakeholder expectations.

  • Support education across the organization for corporate responsibility goals and initiatives and oversee cross-functional climate and carbon working groups.

ESG Reporting Execution

  • Lead the preparation of annual ESG, climate- and nature-related reporting.

  • Manage ESG data collection, validation, and consolidation, partnering cross-functionally across the organization.

  • Ensure alignment with reporting standards and frameworks including (e.g., GRI, IFRS, TNFD), regulatory filings, and external disclosures.

  • Direct the measurement of key sustainability metrics, including forest carbon removals, natural capital, and Scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas emissions.

  • Lead responses and submissions for third-party ESG ratings and rankings, including CDP, ISS, Sustainalytics, MSCI, and S&P CSA.

  • Ensure consistency and accuracy of ESG information across corporate responsibility reporting, annual reports, proxy statements, investor materials, and other public disclosures.

  • Oversee external assurance for ESG disclosures and GHG emissions.

  • Work with communications for effective storytelling to support corporate responsibility initiatives and reporting.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Engagement

  • Partner with Operations, Legal, HR, Investor Relations, Safety, and Public Affairs to embed ESG into day-to-day strategic decision-making.
  • Build organizational capability and drive accountability for ESG metrics across all business units.

What You Bring to the Team

Education: A Bachelor's degree in sustainability, environmental science, accounting, business, corporate responsibility, or a related field. An advanced degree or relevant professional certifications are preferred.

Experience: A minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience in ESG reporting, environmental strategy, or sustainability, including a minimum of five (5) years of leadership experience managing a team and cross-functional initiatives.

Technical Skills & Reporting Frameworks: Deep understanding of ESG reporting frameworks (e.g., ISSB, GRI, TCFD, TNFD, CDP), climate/environmental metrics, regulatory trends, and data assurance practices. Strong oversight of systems and processes for collecting, validating, and analyzing complex data.

Strategic Mindset & Professional Influence: Exceptional project management and stakeholder management skills with outstanding written, verbal, and executive presentation capabilities. A proven ability to drive alignment and accountability across a complex organization.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

This role is primarily office-based with extended periods of computer use and sitting. This position requires significant domestic and occasional international travel (estimated 50-60%) to support engagement, stakeholder meetings, site visits, and external representation.
