CDN Infrastructure Architect (Application Delivery / CDN & Edge Platforms)

Job Profile Summary

Executes the vision, future direction, and initiative roadmap for strategic infrastructure technology programs, with a focus on content delivery, edge computing, and traffic optimization architectures. Defines global CDN strategies that support application availability, performance, scalability, and secure delivery of web and application traffic.

Core Responsibilities (Additions)

In addition to the standard responsibilities:

  • Defines and evolves enterprise CDN and edge delivery architectures, including caching strategies, traffic routing, and global content distribution patterns.
  • Leads the design, implementation, and governance of CDN platforms (e.g., Akamai, Cloudflare, Fastly) supporting critical business applications across cloud and on‑prem environments.
  • Establishes standards for edge caching, DNS, traffic steering, and latency optimization to ensure high availability and optimal end‑user experience.
  • Designs and enforces best practices for edge security, including DDoS protection, WAF integration, TLS/SSL management, and secure content delivery.
  • Monitors CDN performance, analyzes cache efficiency and traffic patterns, and drives optimization efforts to improve performance and reduce origin load.
  • Partners with application, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure seamless end‑to‑end application delivery through the edge.
  • Drives continuous improvement in scalability, resiliency, and automation of CDN and edge delivery capabilities.
  • Supports incident response for performance degradation and traffic delivery issues, ensuring rapid resolution and root cause analysis.
