Description:

Ledwell Machinery is seeking a motivated Apprentice Heavy Equipment Diesel Technician to join our service team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands, solving mechanical problems, and building a long-term career in the diesel and heavy equipment industry.

The apprentice technician will work alongside experienced mechanics to learn how to diagnose, repair, and maintain construction equipment, utility vehicles, outdoor power equipment, and other diesel-powered machinery. We are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and a desire to learn.

Requirements:Responsibilities

· Assist senior technicians with equipment inspections, diagnostics, and repairs.

· Learn preventive maintenance procedures on diesel-powered equipment.

· Perform basic service work including oil changes, filter replacement, greasing, and fluid checks.

· Assist with hydraulic, electrical, engine, drivetrain, and equipment repairs.

· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

· Complete company and manufacturer training programs as assigned.

· Properly use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and service manuals.

· Document work completed and assist with shop organization.

QualificationsPreferred Skills

· Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.

· Basic knowledge of engines, power equipment, automotive, farm, or heavy equipment repair.

· Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely.

· Dependable attendance and positive attitude.
