Location: Remote, U.S. Based; must be willing and able to work onsite in Washington State as required
Schedule: Part-Time, approximately 20 hours/week
Compensation: $90-$105/hour, depending on experience and relevant certifications
Position Overview
REV is seeking an experienced Data Migration Lead to provide technical leadership for large-scale data migration and conversion activities supporting a major enterprise modernization initiative.
The Data Migration Lead will develop migration strategy and roadmaps, establish mapping and transformation approaches, oversee data quality and reconciliation, and ensure legacy data is accurately and securely transitioned into modern platforms.
Responsibilities
  • Develop enterprise data migration strategy, approach, and roadmap.
  • Define migration requirements, data selection rules, sequencing, and cutover strategies.
  • Partner with business SMEs to validate migration readiness and sequencing.
  • Lead data profiling, mapping, cleansing, transformation, validation, and reconciliation activities.
  • Define conversion specifications and transformation logic.
  • Coordinate migration defects, reconciliation activities, and audit trails.
  • Partner with data architecture, integration, application, and development teams.
  • Evaluate migration tools, automation approaches, and cloud platform capabilities.
  • Establish data quality checkpoints throughout migration cycles.
  • Support UAT planning and data-dependent test execution.
  • Develop and maintain migration runbooks, mapping sheets, conversion logs, and reconciliation procedures.
  • Define go/no-go criteria and rollback procedures.
  • Support migration cutover planning and execution.
  • Identify migration risks, dependencies, and technical issues.
  • Provide recommendations for complex migration problems and root-cause analysis.
  • Lead knowledge-transfer activities and mentor technical teams.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Bachelor's degree must include at least 12 semester hours or 18 quarter hours of computer science coursework.
  • Candidate must be able to provide documentation verifying the degree and specific computer science coursework completed if requested.
  • 7+ years of professional IT experience involving data analysis, system analysis, development, databases, data migration, or related technical disciplines.
  • 5+ years of hands-on Data Migration, Data Conversion, Data Architecture, or comparable senior data leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale data migration or conversion programs.
  • Strong experience with data profiling, mapping, cleansing, transformation, validation, reconciliation, and conversion readiness.
  • Experience developing migration strategies, roadmaps, cutover plans, and migration runbooks.
  • Experience with legacy system modernization and migration into modern/cloud platforms.
  • Strong SQL experience.
  • Experience with NoSQL and cloud data technologies.
  • Experience with APIs, ETL/ELT, messaging, event-driven pipelines, and service-oriented architectures.
  • Experience with Azure, AWS, and/or GCP.
  • Experience with modern development languages such as Java, C#, Python, and/or NodeJS.
  • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Strong understanding of data quality, governance, security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with authentication, authorization, encryption, and Zero Trust principles.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Must be comfortable working as an individual 1099 Independent Contractor.
  • Must be willing and able to work onsite in Washington State as required.
  • Must be able to complete required background screening, security training, confidentiality requirements, and system-access requirements.

Engagement Requirements
This is a part-time, approximately 20-hour-per-week 1099 Independent Contractor engagement.
The engagement is primarily remote; however, the consultant must be willing and able to report onsite in Washington State when required by the client/program.
