Job description

Position Summary

Experienced Dietary Manager with expertise in food service, food preparation, and State and Federal regulations. Join our team of experienced professionals who are dedicated to resident care and providing excellent service.  The primary purpose of the Dietary Manager is to assist the Dietitian in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the Dietary Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards in a long term care facility, and regulations governing our facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator, to assure that quality nutritional services are provided on a daily basis and that the dietary department is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.

Shift: 1st shift 8:00am-4:30pm

Job Description:

  • Coordinates dietary services and activities with other related departments (i.e., Nursing, Housekeeping, Social Services, etc.)

  • Assists the dietary staff in the development and use of departmental policies, procedures, equipment, supplies, etc.

  • Assist in developing preliminary and comprehensive assessments of the dietary needs of each resident

  • Trains, evaluates, counsels, and disciplines dietary personnel

  • Places orders for equipment and supplies as necessary or as may be required and within approved budget

  • Ensures that all food storage rooms, preparation areas, etc., are maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner

  • Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Certified Dietary Manager, Certified Food Protection Professional (CDM, CFPP)

  • Certified Foodservice Manager

  • Associates or higher degree in Hospitality or Foodservice Management with training in foodservice management and food safety

  • 3-5 years experience in a supervisory capacity in Assisted Living, or Skilled Nursing facility

  • Must have training in cost control, food management, diet therapy, etc.
