Job description

Position Summary The primary purpose of the CDL/Lowboy Driver is to operate a truck and trailer and to safely transport construction and other heavy equipment to and from different job sites.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Ability to operate a lowboy truck and trailer to and from different job sites.
  • Ability to operate a service truck when needed.
  • Maintenance of company vehicles, equipment, and machinery.
  • Keep job sites clean of all unused/waste materials and ensure all vehicles, equipment, and machinery are stored in a safe and secure manner.
  • Ability to load and unload equipment safely and efficiently at various locations.
  • Ensure all payloads are loaded securely before moving to ensure safety and to comply with company and DOT standards.
  • Must be able to comply with and follow all company and DOT requirements and regulations.
  • Ensure the practice of safety standards in accordance with company policies, DOT, and OSHA.
  • Perform all other tasks and follow instructions as directed by direct supervisors.

Workdays & Shifts

  • Must be available to work varied shifts (days, nights, weekends)
  • Willingness to travel for extended periods of time.

Education/Certifications/Licenses

  • Valid Class A CDL with a Tanker Endorsement – Required.
  • Up-to-date DOT Medical Card – Required.

Experience & Knowledge

  • Two (2) years' experience as a CDL/Lowboy Driver – Required.
  • Mechanical aptitude – Required.
  • Heavy Haul Experience – Required

Other Requirements

  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age or older.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screens & background checks, including MVR.
  • Must be in a union or be willing to join a union.
