Job description

A CDL truck driver for a drilling services company safely transports drilling rigs, heavy equipment, water trailers, and fluid products to and from job sites while assisting with crew operations. 


Position Summary

  • Role: CDL Truck Driver (CDL- A)
  • Industry: Drilling Services / Construction / Energy Infrastructure
  • Goal: Transport heavy equipment, supplies, and fluids to active drilling sites while maintaining strict compliance with safety and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. 

    Key Responsibilities

    • Transport & Delivery: Safely haul drill rigs, lowbed trailers, water/vacuum tanks, and drilling fluids to and from job locations. [1, 2, 3, 4]
    • Site Support: Assist the crew with rig setup, tear-down, loading, and unloading of heavy equipment and materials. 
    • Inspections: Complete pre-trip, post-trip, and daily equipment inspections, reporting any mechanical issues immediately. [1, 2, 3]
    • Compliance: Maintain accurate Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) and driving logs in compliance with DOT.
    • Safety & Maintenance: Follow all Job Safety Analysis (JSA) guidelines, wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and keep the vehicle clean. 

      Qualifications & Requirements

      • License: Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
      • Endorsements: Tanker and Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) endorsements are frequently required.
      • Medical: Valid DOT medical card and ability to pass a fit-for-duty physical exam.
      • Drug Testing: Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug/alcohol screenings.
      • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50–80 lbs, bend frequently, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
