What You'll Do
As a Class A CDL Driver & Excavation Specialist, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient completion of projects while maintaining excellent customer service. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Driving and Operating Equipment: Safely operate a pump truck to service septic tanks and grease traps. Transport and operate excavators and other tools to job sites for both residential and commercial properties.
Providing Repairs and Maintenance: Assist with excavation for drainage systems and expose sewer lines for repair or replacement by expert plumbers.
Team Leadership: Lead and coordinate with the dig crews, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and safely while maintaining quality standards.
Following Processes: Adhere to Mr. Rooter Plumbing's proven processes and standards to deliver excellent service for homeowners and commercial clients.
Physical Labor: Perform hands-on tasks such as digging holes by hand, climbing ladders in and out of excavations, carrying materials like stone and concrete, and operating heavy tools like jackhammers.
Customer Interaction: Communicate effectively with homeowners and commercial property managers, explaining work being done and ensuring satisfaction with the service.
Qualifications and Job Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must meet the following qualifications:
CDL Class A License: You must have a clean and valid CDL Class A NYS driver's license with Tanker and Air Brake endorsements and be insurable to operate company vehicles. If you do not currently have these endorsements, you must be willing to obtain them before starting employment.
Leadership Experience: At least 2 years of proven experience in a leadership, supervisory, or team management role.
Equipment Operation: At least 2 years of experience operating excavators and other heavy equipment.
Physical Capability: Must be able to lift at least 35 lbs., bend, stoop, crawl into confined spaces, and perform hands-on labor year-round in various conditions.
Work Schedule: Must be available to work Monday through Friday, starting at 7:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. or until the job is completed, as needed.
Skills: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
