This position is a home daily truck driving job so you will be home every day.

SCOPE OF ROLE:

The primary responsibility of a CDL Driver is the delivery and pick up of loads. This position requires maintaining a valid Commercial Driver’s License, obeying all traffic laws, driving defensively and with the safety of others as the primary concern.

The CDL Driver must also maintain fork truck certifications in order to safely operate all types of trucks (fork, extended fork, picker). Additionally, this position will perform basic distribution center duties including receiving, putting away, picking, and shipping. The CDL Driver must follow all policies and procedures, including the quality policy, safety guidelines and all GFSI standards at all applicable locations. This position requires providing excellent customer service under all circumstances.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Driving Rocket vehicles as necessary and assigned
  • Completing all daily/weekly vehicle inspections
    • Immediately alerting Rocket for any maintenance needs that are noticed
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the truck/van with at least weekly cleaning
  • Supporting and building good relationships with customers
  • Diligent use of POD software/technology
  • Develop working knowledge of all related systems. Must be able to perform any task necessary within the distribution center
    • Warehouse Management System
  • Maintaining a clean and safe distribution center
    • Sweeping
    • Picking up
    • Scrubbing the floors

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA’s):

  • Valid Class A or B CDL
  • Clean driving record
  • Defensive driving mindset
  • High School diploma, preferred
  • Prior distribution experience, preferred (using fulfillment software, driving forklifts, order pickers, and reach trucks)
  • The physical ability to stand, crouch, and lift objects throughout a standard workday
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Problem solving and decision making abilities
