CDL Delivery Driver /Warehouse Associate

DSG is seeking a CDL Delivery Driver /Warehouse Associate in our La Crosse, WI location. In this full time, hourly position, work typically ranges between the hours of 5 am and 3 pm, Monday through Friday, but may vary on occasion according to business needs. As a CDL Delivery Driver /Warehouse Associate, you will work in all aspects of warehouse operations, with the primary duty of delivering product to customers and jobsites, which includes the loading, unloading, securing and transporting of such materials. While more than half of the time working will be spent on deliveries, the driver will also be expected to assist in all other warehouse operations as requested.

The CDL Delivery Driver /Warehouse Associate must hold a valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with current medical card.

A Typical Day in the Life of a CDL Delivery Driver/Warehouse Associate at DSG:

  • Load delivery truck in a safe manner, according to company policy
  • Work with warehouse associates to communicate how product should be loaded
  • Inspect truck & trailer according to company policy and DOT standards, to ensure it is in good working order
  • Immediately communicate any vehicle safety and/or maintenance issues to the supervisor
  • Communicate with customers regarding delivery dates & times
  • Drive to various customer locations, typically within 150 miles of branch location
  • Unload materials at customers' places of businesses and/or warehouses, as per customer instruction
  • Stay compliant with DOT/FMCSA and OSHA regulations including completion of training activities as required by DSG policy and/or regulatory authorities
  • Adhere to DSG's safety policy and vehicle safety program
  • Maintain a good driving record
  • Assist in all aspects of warehouse operations when not out on delivery:
  1. Accurately pull product to fill orders in a timely manner
  2. Pack, label and put filled orders in proper locations for delivery
  3. Operate forklift
  4. Use computer and RF scanner to check on status, availability and location of product
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • A Successful CDL Delivery Driver/Warehouse Associate Typically Has:

    • A valid Class A or B CDL with current medical card (required).
    • Basic product and warehouse/delivery knowledge normally acquired in one to three years of applicable experience.
    • Attention to detail.
    • The ability to plan, prioritize and organize work effectively to work efficiently under pressure and time deadlines.
    • Safety training on material handling and forklift driving.
    • Strong interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.
    • A physical ability to lift, push, pull or move items weighing 70-325lbs. with the aid of mechanical device or another person.
    • Prior computer knowledge, experience, and skills.
