We are seeking an experienced Automotive Bookkeeper to join our dealership team. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting daily operations, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records for the dealership
  • Process accounts payable and receivable, including vendor invoices and customer billing
  • Reconcile bank statements, vendor accounts, and general ledger entries
  • Post deals, repair orders, parts invoices, and finance/lease transactions
  • Calculate and post sales commissions, vehicle payoffs, and policy payments
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing, including financial reporting and audits
  • Monitor and reconcile vehicle and parts inventory accounts
  • Prepare 1099s and assist with budgets/forecasts as needed
  • Communicate with vendors, customers, and internal departments to resolve discrepancies
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, dealership policies, and financial regulations

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1–3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience (automotive dealership experience strongly preferred)
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel); experience with dealership management systems (CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, QuickBooks, etc.) a plus
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, and reporting
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
