Job Title: Neurologist
Location: Mercy Health Defiance Clinic, Defiance, OH
Department: Neurology
Job Type: Full-Time, Employed
Schedule: Monday - Friday, with shared on-call responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and treat a broad range of neurological disorders, including stroke, epilepsy, dementia, Parkinsons disease, and more
  • Provide expert care through both inpatient and outpatient services
  • Utilize EPIC EMR for patient documentation and communication
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including neurosurgeons, critical care teams, and other specialists
  • Lead and participate in educational and training opportunities for medical students and residents
  • Contribute to research and clinical trials as appropriate
  • Provide telemedicine follow-up services to enhance patient access and care continuity
  • Engage in a community of healthcare professionals dedicated to excellence, innovation, and patient-centered care

Qualifications:

  • Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
  • Board Certification/Eligibility: Board-certified or board-eligible in Neurology
  • Licensure: Valid medical license to practice in Ohio (or eligibility to obtain licensure)
  • Experience:
    • 1-3 years of clinical neurology experience preferred
    • Fellowship training in a subspecialty (e.g., stroke, epilepsy, neuromuscular) is a plus
    • Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to provide comprehensive neurological care
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in EPIC EMR
    • Commitment to ongoing professional development and patient-centered care
    • Willingness to contribute to teaching and academic endeavors
