Job description

Overview

Salary: $40,492 - $59,500 + eligible for bonus program

Yusen Logistics is seeking a dedicated professional for the pivotal role of Security Surveilence Operator. A critical position within our 24/7 operation center. This role requires a high level of vigilance and dedication, as this position will be instrumental in maintaining the high standards of our Loss Prevention program.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor nationwide facilities in real time using CCTV, access control, alarms, analytics, and GPStracking systems to identify potential security or safety risks.
  • Ensure the protection of facilities, yards, freight, personnel, and assets through proactive surveillance and timely escalation of critical events.
  • Use sound judgment and criticalthinking skills to assess incidents and determine appropriate response actions.
  • Analyze live and recorded video feeds to identify suspicious activity, safety concerns, or threats and promptly elevate findings to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Monitor GPS devices and alerts for route deviations, unauthorized stops, or tampering and take immediate action, including escalation to site leadership, security personnel, transportation teams, or law enforcement when necessary.
  • Escalate major incidents to law enforcement when required, providing accurate realtime information and coordinating internal communication to support effective response.
  • Follow established security procedures to ensure quick, compliant responses to Ai alerts, alarms, and calls for service.
  • Maintain system functionality by reporting hardware or software issues and ensuring continuous operational readiness of surveillance equipment.
  • Document incidents, observations, and system activity accurately in logs and reports.
  • Retrieve and store footage for investigations, audits, or safety reviews.
  • Collaborate with thirdparty security and onsite teams to resolve security gaps or operational issues.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all video footage, system data, and sensitive information.
  • Support safety monitoring by identifying hazardous conditions or unsafe behaviors.
  • Perform routine system checks, audits, and camera/GPS verification tasks.
  • Communicate clearly with internal teams, site leadership, vendors, and emergency responders when needed.
  • Participate in training to stay current with surveillance tools, GPS systems, and emergency response protocols.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by Loss Prevention leadership to support evolving operational needs.

Experience & Education Requirements

  • Professional Experience: 2-3 years of experience working in a Security Operations Center (SOC), Command Center, Emergency Dispatch, or a high-volume remote monitoring environment.
  • Logistics Familiarity: Prior experience in loss prevention, cargo-theft monitoring, or supply chain security is highly preferred.
  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated experience using integrated security platforms (CCTV, GPS-tracking, and Alarm Monitoring) to manage real-time incidents.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, or a related field is a plus.

 

           Desired Skills

  • Prior experience working in a Security Operations Center (SOC), Command Center, or remote monitoring environment.
  • Familiarity with cargotheft prevention practices, freightmovement monitoring, or logisticsindustry security operations.
