How much do cctv analyst jobs pay per year?

As of Jun 15, 2026, the average yearly pay for cctv analyst in the United States is $138,141.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $157,000.00 and $157,000.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are CCTV Analysts?

CCTV Analysts are professionals responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and reviewing footage from closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems to ensure safety and security. They detect suspicious activities, investigate incidents, and often assist law enforcement or management by providing video evidence. Their work is crucial in crime prevention, loss prevention, and maintaining a secure environment in places like businesses, public areas, and transportation hubs.

How to become a CCTV analyst?

To become a CCTV analyst, candidates typically need a high school diploma or equivalent, with some roles requiring post-secondary education or specialized training in security or surveillance. Relevant skills include knowledge of CCTV systems, video analysis, and security protocols, often supported by certifications such as the Certified Security Analyst (CSA). Experience with surveillance equipment and strong attention to detail are also important for this role.

What are some common challenges faced by CCTV Analysts and how can they be addressed?

CCTV Analysts often encounter challenges such as monitoring multiple feeds simultaneously, identifying suspicious activities among routine footage, and ensuring quick response to incidents. To address these, analysts typically rely on well-established protocols, utilize advanced video analytics software to flag unusual behavior, and maintain close communication with security and law enforcement teams. Continuous training and staying updated on the latest surveillance technology also help analysts perform effectively in high-pressure environments.

What job makes $10,000 a month without a degree?

A CCTV analyst typically does not earn $10,000 a month without specialized experience or certifications. High-paying roles in fields like sales, real estate, or entrepreneurship can reach that level without a degree, but most technical or analyst positions require relevant training or skills. Achieving such income often involves advanced expertise, certifications, or business ownership rather than entry-level roles.

What is the difference between Cctv Analyst vs Security Analyst?

AspectCctv AnalystSecurity Analyst
CertificationsSecurity+; CCTV-specific trainingCompTIA Security+; CISSP
Work EnvironmentMonitoring CCTV footage, surveillance roomsNetwork security, threat analysis
Industry UsageSecurity firms, retail, transportationIT, corporate, government sectors

The main difference is that a CCTV Analyst focuses on monitoring and analyzing surveillance footage to prevent theft or vandalism, while a Security Analyst deals with broader cybersecurity threats. Both roles require security certifications and work in security-focused environments, but their daily tasks and industry applications differ significantly.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a CCTV Analyst, and why are they important?

To thrive as a CCTV Analyst, you need strong observational skills, attention to detail, and a background in security or criminal justice, often supported by relevant certifications. Familiarity with CCTV monitoring software, video management systems, and evidence handling protocols is typically required. Excellent communication, critical thinking, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are crucial soft skills for this role. These competencies are essential to accurately identify, report, and respond to security incidents, ensuring the safety and integrity of monitored environments.

What jobs pay 2000 a day?

CCTV analysts typically do not earn $2000 a day; such high daily rates are usually associated with specialized roles like high-level consultants, executive security advisors, or certain freelance experts in cybersecurity or surveillance. These positions often require extensive experience, certifications, and sometimes involve project-based or contract work. Most standard CCTV analyst roles offer salaries significantly below this level.

What jobs pay $250 an hour?

CCTV analysts typically do not earn $250 an hour; such high rates are usually associated with specialized roles like senior consultants, high-level cybersecurity experts, or freelance professionals with extensive experience and certifications. These roles often require advanced skills, security clearances, or consulting arrangements and are less common as standard positions. Most CCTV analyst positions offer salaries significantly below this rate, with higher earnings possible through consulting or freelance work in related fields.
