Serna Solutions is now taking applications for Interns for the Summer and Fall.


We are seeking Interns for all locations including Albuquerque, Espanola, Rio Rancho, San Ildefonso Pueblo and Santa Fe.


We also have school based locations in Albuquerque and Santa Fe.


Since 2003 Serna Solutions has provided clinical counseling services to individuals, couples and families with a variety of challenges. Through our years of service we have found that the best way to help people activate their own resources for insight and change is through an integrative style that is non-confrontational, yet challenging. We blend evidence-based practices with humanistic and insight-oriented techniques to empower people to reach their goals.


Services Provided
Serna Solutions provides outpatient counseling and Comprehensive Community Support Services (CCSS) for any mental health and/or substance use issue with the following populations:

  • Individuals
  • Couples
  • Families
  • Children
  • Adolescents

Methods and Models
Serna Solutions employs a wide variety of techniques and methods to assist clients in reaching their goals. Some of these methods include:

  • Art Therapy
  • Motivational Interviewing
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Community Reinforcement Approach (CRA)
  • Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach (ACRA)
  • Community Reinforcement & Family Training (CRAFT)
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills (DBT)
  • Brainspotting
  • Hypnotherapy
Requirements:

Minimum qualifications include:


Supervised Intern Program for pre-licensure as LMHC, LSAA, LAMFT and LMSW. Also taking interns who are pursuing CPSW training and CCSS training.


Preference will be given to students already trained in Evidence Based Practice (MI, CRA, DBT, Seeking Safety, EMDR, MBSEP, Brainspotting, etc.) Interns will be expected to attend training at Serna Solutions in the above mentioned practices as part of their internship.


Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required.


JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the general direction of the clinical director/clinical supervisor the clinician will be responsible for:

  • Provide psycho-therapeutic and psycho-educational services to individuals, families, and groups;
  • Provide individual therapeutic counseling to clients as assigned by the director;
  • Provide clinical documentation such as treatment plans, assessments, and clinical notes;
  • Attend program staffing and clinical staffing to participate in client progress reports and professional development;
  • Report relevant information in a timely manner to clinical supervisor and/or program director;
  • Provide case management to link clients with supportive services and provides follow up to referring agency;
  • Operates within compliance with related federal, state and local regulations;
  • Provides direct clinical and case management services; and provides administrative support;
  • Contact clients directly for the purposes of scheduling, follow up and case management;
  • Provide crisis intervention, as needed;
  • 10-30 hours of service per week;
  • Must complete background check
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
