20164 - Network Engineer III

Purpose

We are seeking a talented and motivated "Network Engineer III" to join our dynamic IT team. As a Network Engineer III, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our organization's network infrastructure to ensure seamless connectivity, optimal performance, and security. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify and address network-related issues, contribute to network design discussions, and implement best practices to support our growing technology needs by helping to design and support network elements.  Analyzes, resolves, and reports on network issues.  Must be able to weigh business needs against the need for network changes and articulate issues to management.

Essential Functions

    • Assist in designing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and wireless networks.
    • Support the implementation and management of network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
    • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity, latency, and other related issues to ensure optimal user experience.
    • Collaborate with system administrators and security teams to implement network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls.
    • Participate in capacity planning and network expansion efforts to accommodate the organization's growth and evolving technology requirements.
    • Assist in the evaluation and integration of new networking technologies and solutions.
    • Respond to and resolve network incidents and service disruptions in a timely manner.
    • Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
    • Provide technical support and guidance to junior team members as needed.
    • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in networking.
    • Ensure Change Management and other procedures are followed
    • Document network procedures and system configurations
    • Install, maintain, and configure Cisco routers/switches, firewall, VPN, VLANs
    • Monitor/Resolve LAN/WAN performance, health, and security issues
    • Install, maintain, and configure all wireless networks
    • Install, configure, and maintain all LAN/WAN hardware and cabling 
    • Participate in Network Operations planning
    • Support all Administrators and developers as required.
    • Develop/test and analyze new technical solutions to problems
    • Maintain a current inventory of all Network assets, purchase history, and warranty data
    • Install, maintain, and configure all voice & data communication circuits
    • Perform disaster recovery of all network systems 
    • Perform backup and restores of network systems 
• Implements policies to ensure the security and integrity of the network

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors’ Degree in MIS or Computer Science preferred
  • At least 7 years of experience as network engineer
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.), and technologies. Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting network equipment from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, or other major providers.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools such as:  Cisco DNA, Cisco Prime, Progress What's Up Gold, Manage Engine OpUtils, Stealthwatch, etc..
  • Basic knowledge of network security principles and practices.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Certifications (Required/Preferred)

• Required – CCNP routing and switching
• Preferred – CCNP wireless
• Preferred – CCNP voice
• Any related certificates

Salary Range - $75,880 - $108,500
