Job Overview:

The IT Network Engineer is responsible for the architecture/design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of our on-premises and cloud network infrastructure across our retail locations, warehouses, and corporate office. The IT Network Engineer will ensure the seamless and secure operation of our network, supporting our business operations, point-of-sale systems, and customer experience. This position requires a proactive approach to network management, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to maintaining high availability and performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure, and deploy network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and VPN solutions, in accordance with company standards and industry best practices
  • Proactively monitor network performance of corporate, warehouse, and store networks, identify and resolve issues, and perform regular maintenance to ensure optimal uptime and efficiency
  • Utilize network monitoring tools to detect anomalies and potential security threats
  • Provide expert-level support for network-related incidents, diagnosing and resolving complex connectivity and performance issues in a timely manner
  • Assist in the development and testing of network disaster recovery and business continuity plans
  • Create and maintain network documentation, including diagrams and configurations of the corporate, warehouse, and store networks
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency
  • Foster strong relationships with other IT teams and business departments to ensure seamless integration of services and proactive support
  • Collaborate with other teams to troubleshoot system-wide issues
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor when interacting with both internal and external users
  • Manage workload and ensure timely resolution of support tickets
  • Stay abreast of new networking technologies

Qualifications:

  • Networking Fundamentals:
    • Deep understanding of TCP/IP, OSI Models
    • Advanced working knowledge of Cisco Routing and Switching platforms. Cisco CCNA certification required, CCNP certification preferred
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with medium/large size LAN and WAN environments.
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience with configuring, installing, and troubleshooting enterprise-grade network devices (switches, routers, firewalls, Wireless AP’s)
    • Experience and proficiency with network monitoring and management tools (SolarWinds, Wireshark, Dynatrace)
    • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues quickly and efficiently
    • Ability to create and maintain detailed network diagrams, configurations, and procedural documentation
  • Network Security
    • Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices
    • Experience implementing and managing security features like firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, NAC (Network Access Control), and access control lists (ACLs)
    • Knowledge of common cyber threats and mitigation strategies
  • Cloud Networking
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience with Cloud networking and architecture in major cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, OCI, AWS)
    • Understanding of hybrid cloud networking architectures
