Ready to engineer real solutions-not just fetch coffee?
At First United Door Technologies / Safe-Way Door, we don't do "busy work internships."
We're looking for a driven, detail-oriented Engineering Intern (Independent Contractor / 1099) to join our manufacturing engineering team and make an immediate impact inside a fast-paced production environment.
This is a hands-on opportunity to work directly with engineering, operations, inventory, purchasing, and manufacturing teams to improve the systems that keep our business moving.
If you love solving problems, working with data, and figuring out how products are actually built-this role is for you.
What You'll Work On
As part of our engineering support team, you'll get exposure to real manufacturing processes and business systems, including:
🔧 Bill of Materials (BOM) Management
  • Maintain and update BOM structures
  • Support day-to-day engineering data accuracy

  • Assist with engineering changes tied to production demand
🤝 Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work directly with:

💻 Systems & Backend Configuration
  • Assist with configurator logic and backend data maintenance
  • Support ERP/master data cleanup initiatives
📈 Continuous Improvement Projects
  • Identify process improvement opportunities
  • Help streamline engineering workflows
  • Support documentation and data governance efforts

What We're Looking For
• Engineering student or recent graduate (Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Systems, or similar)
• Strong Excel / data management skills
• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment
• Able to communicate effectively across departments
• Interest in ERP systems, BOM structures, product configuration, and manufacturing operations
Bonus Points If You Have Experience With:
