Network Engineer
Satellite Ground Systems | Juniper
Scottsdale, AZ

We are hiring a Network Engineer - Satellite Ground Systems to support the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (PWSA) Ground Management and Integration (GMI) program. This role supports secure satellite ground infrastructure through network design, implementation, integration, troubleshooting, and sustainment using Juniper, Arista, Linux, VMware, AWS, BGP, OSPF, firewalls, and enterprise networking technologies in a classified DoD environment requiring an active Secret Clearance.
Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, configure, and support enterprise data communications networks supporting satellite ground systems.
  • Analyze system requirements and develop network architectures supporting Ground Management and Integration (GMI) activities within the PWSA Ground Segment.
  • Install, configure, test, document, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, gateways, and associated network infrastructure.
  • Perform network monitoring, traffic analysis, capacity planning, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and corrective maintenance.
  • Configure and maintain secure network environments while implementing required cybersecurity hardening and security controls.
  • Support integration, verification, validation, and deployment activities for classified network environments.
  • Develop and maintain detailed network, system, operational, and configuration documentation.
  • Install network hardware within equipment racks and user workspaces.
  • Support operations and maintenance of networks across multiple security classifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams during design, integration, testing, and deployment activities.
  • Travel to customer deployment locations throughout the United States and internationally to support system installation and field integration.

Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
  • Active Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related technical discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience; or Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience designing, implementing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise IP networks.
  • Experience integrating and configuring routers, switches, firewalls, gateways, and enterprise networking equipment.
  • Working knowledge of IPv4 networking, TCP/UDP protocols, routing, switching, and enterprise network architectures.
  • Experience with at least two of the following:
    • Windows Server and Linux operating systems
    • Enterprise LAN administration supporting 30+ client systems
    • Mixed Windows/Linux enterprise computing environments
    • Virtualization technologies supporting servers, storage, operating systems, or networking
  • Experience performing network troubleshooting, diagnostics, performance analysis, and documentation.
  • Experience implementing network security configurations and resolving vulnerability findings.
  • Familiarity with enterprise storage technologies (NAS/SAN).
  • Ability to physically install networking equipment within rack-mounted environments.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required travel documentation, including a valid U.S. Passport.
  • Ability to travel extensively within the United States and internationally.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Enterprise network architecture and topology design.
  • High-speed network design and implementation.
  • Juniper Networks certifications (JNCIA-Junos preferred, JNCIP preferred).
  • Cisco CCNA or CCNP certification.
  • Experience administering Juniper SRX firewalls.
  • Experience with Arista switching platforms.
  • Experience supporting DNS, Identity Management, and account administration using Linux and Windows Server environments.
  • Experience with multicast networking.
  • Strong knowledge of routing protocols including BGP and OSPF.
  • Experience performing vulnerability scanning, system hardening, and remediation.
  • Experience with VMware vSphere virtualization.
  • Experience supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
  • Experience with AWS networking and cloud services.
  • Six (6)+ years integrating and configuring enterprise switches, routers, firewalls, and gateways within IP-based communications environments.
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification preferred.
