What is a CCM developer?

CCM Developers are specialized software professionals who design, develop, and implement Customer Communications Management (CCM) solutions. They work with CCM platforms to create, manage, and automate personalized customer communications such as statements, invoices, emails, and other documents. Their role often involves integrating CCM systems with other business applications, ensuring compliance, and enhancing customer engagement through efficient communication processes. CCM Developers typically possess expertise in CCM tools (like OpenText Exstream, Quadient Inspire, or Smart Communications), programming, and document composition.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a CCM developer?

To thrive as a CCM Developer, you need strong programming skills (often in Java or .NET), experience with Customer Communications Management (CCM) platforms like OpenText Exstream or Quadient Inspire, and a solid understanding of document management processes. Familiarity with CCM tools, XML, scripting languages, and sometimes certifications in specific CCM software are typically required. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills help CCM Developers collaborate effectively with business stakeholders and IT teams. These skills ensure the efficient development and management of personalized customer communications, which are critical for customer engagement and regulatory compliance.

What are the main challenges a CCM developer faces when integrating customer communications with existing enterprise systems?

A CCM Developer often encounters challenges related to integrating customer communication management solutions with legacy systems and diverse data sources. Ensuring seamless data flow, maintaining data integrity, and aligning output formats with business requirements can be complex, particularly in large organizations with varied technology stacks. Additionally, balancing compliance, security, and performance while delivering personalized, omnichannel communications requires close collaboration with IT, business analysts, and compliance teams. Staying updated on evolving regulations and customer experience trends also plays a crucial role in overcoming these challenges.

Acting as the main point of contact in the field, you will ensure seamless project execution through effective coordination, technical review, and oversight of project documentation. Additionally, you will supervise construction management staff and play a critical role in maintaining project safety, regulatory compliance, and quality standards.
  • Serve as the main liaison between Arcadis design teams and contractors, managing day-to-day communication and addressing field inquiries.
  • Represent Arcadis in meetings with contractors, clients, local agencies, and community stakeholders to discuss project progress, safety, scheduling, and contract administration.
  • Coordinate responses to contractor RFIs, review shop drawings, and organize periodic field visits by design disciplines to resolve construction issues.
  • Oversee the collection and management of field documentation, back-office record-keeping, general correspondence, and the preparation of reports and deliverables.
  • Monitor site safety, ensure compliance with permit conditions, coordinate with City agencies, and supervise Arcadis construction management staff, including professional development and mentorship.

Professional certifications such as DBIA or CCM are highly preferred. Proficiency with scheduling and CAD software is required, along with a demonstrated interest and ability to network, support proposals, and contribute to the firm's growth within the NYC construction market.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor of Science degree related to Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related discipline
  • Professional Engineer - New York (active)
  • 15 years of experience
